What is the Current Status?

  The White Earth Nation has completed a phase 1 Market and Feasibility Study. Tribal leaders are meeting behind closed doors with representatives of the Clay County Commission, The City Council of Dilworth, and the City Council of Moorhead to share information, and negotiate terms for items such as road access, sewer, water, power, law enforcement, emergency services, environmental concerns (aquifer), school funding, and payment in Lieu of taxes. The Tribe is seeking letters of support from our local government officials.  Once the land is in trust, it is not subject to property taxes, neither are the casino profits subject to State and Federal income taxes.
